N.B. Days 5 & 6 were devoted to “Delhi Belly” — and that needs no further explanation.
I bid adieu to “The Geezer” (as it is fondly known) – the cranky contraption above the toilet that provides hot water in the bathroom, and headed to New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport for my scheduled 1:20am flight to Paris. Of course, being India, this meant departure at 2:40am.
SkyTeam doesn’t have a dedicated lounge, so they contract it out to ITC Hotel Group Green Lounge. Nothing exceptional — fairly dirty, broken power outlets and over-crowded.
On arrival at Paris CDG Airport, I headed to the RER-B train. Time was tight because of the flight delay, and I had a train to catch to London. I made it just in time (but forgot about UK immigration). Still, made it on board in time for departure.
Lots of running about in London once I was checked in to my hotel and showered. Very few photos, but I did wander through a tunnel that had some amazing graffiti (and several guys working on new “canvases”) – reminded me a bit of Clarion Alley in San Francisco. After finding the yarn shop I was looking for, I wandered around Southbank Center, had a nice dinner and took the requisite Big Ben photo.
